The incident occurred yesterday as the paraglider was descending towards Nanchong, a city in Sichuan province, when the strings of the parachute caught on the crane.

Viral Video Captures Dangling Paraglider

A video that went viral on the Chinese social media platform Weibo shows a person swinging in the air from their parachute, hanging beside a bridge. The incident took place on the banks of the Jialing River along Banzeng Street in Shunqing District, according to officials who spoke to local newspaper Dafeng News.

Length of Ordeal Unclear

It remains unclear how long the person was stuck. Footage captured the paraglider dangling both during daylight and at night. A witness told Beijing News that the person was stranded for at least an hour, though some outlets report that the rescue operation took several hours.

A video recorded by a Weibo user shows firefighters using an aerial ladder to attempt a rescue in the evening. The woman filming can be heard remarking that 'many, many people' were involved. 'It shook a little,' she added, as the video shows the paraglider swaying in the wind.

Successful Rescue

The person was rescued in the evening after firefighters coordinated with the tower crane workers. The Shunqing District Fire Brigade in Nanchong City confirmed that the paraglider suffered no injuries.
