Nations League: Wales beat Norway, Portugal thrash Denmark

Wales secured a 2-1 comeback victory over 10-man Norway in the Nations League, while Portugal thrashed Denmark 4-2 without Cristiano Ronaldo. The Republic of Ireland's 2-2 draw with Austria was twice interrupted by pro-Palestine protests at the Aviva Stadium.

Wales fight back against Norway

Wales came from behind to beat Norway, with Neco Williams scoring the winner from a free-kick in the 54th minute. Dan James had equalised in the 37th minute after Oscar Bobb gave Norway an early lead. Norway's Torbjorn Heggem was sent off in the second half.

Erling Haaland had a quiet night, with BBC pundit Joe Ledley saying: "I thought he was shocking. He didn't offer anything." Dan James praised the fans: "The fans were incredible tonight, it really helped us after two difficult games."

Portugal rampant without Ronaldo

Portugal scored four goals in a 4-2 win over Denmark, with Joao Felix adding a fourth in the 88th minute. Goals from Joao Cancelo, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, and Joao Felix sealed the win, despite Denmark twice equalising through Mikkel Damsgaard and Rasmus Hojlund.

Portugal manager Jorge Jesus said: "What did I like most? It was the victory, obviously. But I feel the team is improving, game by game."

Ireland game interrupted by protests

The Republic of Ireland's match against Austria was interrupted twice in the first half. Tennis balls with Palestinian flags and '#StopTheGame' stickers were thrown onto the pitch, and a pitch invader carried a Palestinian flag before being tackled by security.

Ireland led 2-0 through goals from Troy Parrott, but Austria fought back with goals from Alexander Prass and Michael Gregoritsch to earn a 2-2 draw. The match came amid controversy over Ireland's Nations League fixtures against Israel.
