The Met Office has indicated that several parts of the UK will face rain showers on Friday, as weather maps show unsettled conditions ahead of the weekend. According to the forecaster, many areas will experience patchy rain and showers, with brighter spells in the north.
Friday's Forecast Overview
Sharing the forecast for Friday, the Met Office said: “Rather cloudy in the south with patchy rain in the west. Brighter for northern areas with showers and some sunny spells. Winds a little lighter and feeling a touch warmer.” The weather maps for June 12 have turned blue, indicating rain across 15 areas.
Areas Affected by Rain
Initially, rain showers will hit Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Plymouth, and Cardiff. By Friday night, wet conditions will move toward Scotland, while other parts of the country are likely to remain dry but windy at times.
Meteorologist's Comments
Alex Deakin, a Met Office meteorologist, said: “Certainly in the morning for Northern Ireland and Wales, rain and drizzle on and off here and some heavier bursts, perhaps through the morning of northwest England. Plenty of showers coming into western Scotland, but suspect much of southern and eastern Scotland dry and bright through the day.” He added that temperatures could reach 22-23°C in the southeast, where sunnier skies are expected.
