Two Delta Air Lines aircraft collided at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Tuesday 10 September, causing damage to both planes. The incident occurred when an Airbus A350, preparing for departure to Tokyo-Haneda, struck the tail of an Endeavor Air CRJ-900 regional jet scheduled to fly to LaFayette, Louisiana.
Delta confirmed that the wing of the A350 made contact with the tail of the CRJ-900 while taxiing for departure. The collision resulted in damage to the tail section of the regional jet. No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it would investigate the incident. Delta Air Lines stated that both aircraft were removed from service for inspection and repair. The airline is cooperating with the FAA to determine the cause of the collision.
