Emergency services, including West Midlands Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service, swiftly responded to the scene, ensuring passenger safety while authorities investigated the incident.
The terminal was cleared as a precaution, leading to widespread flight delays and cancellations. Travellers were temporarily redirected away from the building while bomb disposal experts assessed the situation.
Passenger Frustration Mounts
Hundreds of passengers faced lengthy disruptions, with many taking to social media to express their frustration. Some reported being left stranded for hours as airport staff worked to resume normal operations.
"We were told to leave everything behind and evacuate immediately," said one traveller. "No one gave us clear information, and now our flight is cancelled."
Authorities Confirm No Threat
After a thorough examination, authorities confirmed the package was not dangerous. The airport later issued a statement apologising for the inconvenience and thanking passengers for their patience.
