A man in his thirties has died after his electric scooter collided with a motorcycle on a busy Paris motorway. The incident occurred just after midnight on the A86 outer ring road near Versailles.
The victim was not wearing a crash helmet at the time of the accident. Firefighters reported that the scooter was in the left-hand lane when the motorcycle struck it from behind. The motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries and has been hospitalised.
Electric scooters are banned from motorways in France, and authorities are investigating why the rider was on the road. The accident is the latest in a series of incidents involving e-scooters, which have become increasingly popular in Paris and other major cities.
