While the Direct showcased third-party announcements like Dragon's Dogma 2, Stellar Blade, and Kingdom Hearts 4, notable absences included ports of Resident Evil remakes and Pikmin 4.
Resident Evil Ports Confirmed?
Earlier this year, NateTheHate claimed Capcom is bringing the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 to the Switch 2. Despite not appearing in the Direct, the insider responded to questions on X by stating, 'They are coming to SW2 [Switch 2].' When asked about a 2026 release, he added, 'As of last plan, yes.' This aligns with Capcom's existing support for Nintendo's system, including Resident Evil Requiem and the recently announced Resident Evil Veronica.
Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition Still on Track
NateTheHate also reiterated his earlier claim that a Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is in development and slated for 2026. Despite its absence from the Direct, he tweeted, 'There's still time for Pikmin 4 S2E this year.' When pressed on the release date, he noted that the timeline was not set but that he had confidence it would make 2026 back in March.
