Rangers expect to seal an £8.5million deal for Girona winger Kim Min-su in the next 24 hours. The South Korean is due to arrive in Glasgow on Tuesday to sign a long-term contract and could make his debut against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.
Kim Min-su set for Rangers medical completion
Manager Derek McInnes has been looking for quality wide players, and after a move for PSV's Couhaib Driouech collapsed, he has turned to the 20-year-old from Spain's second division. Min-su underwent a medical yesterday but will not be available for Thursday's Conference League play-off second leg against Jablonec.
Instead, he could feature against Aberdeen in a Scottish Premiership clash this weekend. Min-su may not be the last winger to arrive at Ibrox before the transfer window closes on September 3.
More wingers and striker on Rangers' radar
McInnes is still keen to add another right-flank option to compete with Japanese star Daisuke Yokota. Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry remains a target, though the Premier League club is expected to demand around £10million for his signature.
Rangers are also in the market for a striker after Portuguese forward Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury against Hibs. Their top target is Portland Timbers forward Kevin Kelsy, valued at over $10million. Talks have taken place with the MLS club, but no agreement has been reached for the 22-year-old. Lens striker Ryan Fofana is also being monitored as McInnes looks to strengthen his forward line.
Potential exits and Thursday's clash
A centre-back and a midfielder could also be targeted if several players leave Ibrox before the window closes. There is interest in Belgian midfielder Nico Raskin, as well as Scotland internationals Connor Barron and John Souttar, both expected to depart. Fringe players Lyall Cameron, Ross McCausland and Clinton Nsiala are also seeking other clubs as McInnes trims his squad for a Premiership title push.
First, Rangers must negotiate Thursday's second leg against Jablonec in the Czech Republic, holding a 1-0 lead from the first game at Ibrox.
