Lando Norris has revealed that his new racing team, LN4 Fusion, received hundreds of job applications within hours of its announcement. The Formula 1 driver confirmed the project ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
New Team and Driver Scheme
LN4 Fusion will take over the 2027 Formula 3 entry from AIX Racing and also plans to enter Formula 2. Norris has invested his own money alongside funds from an investment company to create the team and the driver talent scheme LN4 Legacy. This marks the first time in the modern era that a Formula 1 world champion has directly invested in a junior single-seater racing team.
The announcement received widespread coverage in news outlets and on social media, with a positive reaction from the motorsport community. Many drivers, engineers, and mechanics have expressed interest in joining the project.
Norris on the Response
Norris said: "The reactions have been great. I know [team principal] Rene [Rosin] said he got over a few hundred job requests within an hour or so of the announcement. There's a lot of attraction from a range of drivers, but also mechanics, engineers, all the people that make a team, a big team. I'm proud as an individual, but also proud that we've been able to put something very special together."
Rosin previously led the Prema team for many years, winning dozens of titles across multiple junior categories. Norris never raced for Prema but competed against the team as he rose through the ranks, and he identified Rosin as the obvious choice to lead the new venture.
Why Rosin Was Chosen
Norris said: "A lot of the guys are people I've known for a long time. I've known Rene for many years, and I have raced against Prema since F4, so back in 2015. I've known of him very well, and I know him personally reasonably well, and so do my team around me."
He added: "We wanted to put together a group that is experienced and knows how to lead a team – and not just create one good team, whether that's just in F3 or just in F2, but be able to put together a project and something long-term, know how to bring people together. I've also been able to experience over the course of the last seven years what makes a good leader, what makes a good team, and a lot of it starts with the person at the very top, and he is that person."
"Just a very nice guy, a guy you can just enjoy having a good chat with, but a guy who also loves doing what he does, which is winning and creating a successful team, bringing people together, maximising things. So he was the inevitable choice at the end of the day. He was available, and he was the guy we wanted."
