Liverpool are close to finalising a deal to sign highly-rated teenage French forward Djylian N'Guessan from Saint-Etienne.
Deal worth around £4.25m
The Reds are putting the finishing touches on the transfer of the 18-year-old having agreed an initial fee in a deal worth around €5million (£4.25m).
Should the move go through, N'Guessan - who is out of contract in 12 months - would spend the remainder of this season with the Ligue 2 side.
Young forward's rise
N'Guessan, who turned 18 on Sunday, is a product of the Saint-Etienne youth system and played for the under-17s team when aged 14.
He made his professional debut in January 2025 aged just 16 in Ligue 1 and was a substitute against Paris Saint-Germain the following week before then handed a first start the weekend later.
Senior experience
N'Guessan, who is a France U20 international, has made eight Ligue 1 appearances but featured only three times in Ligue 2 last season with Saint-Etienne. He did, though, score his first senior goal in the Coupe de France last season.
