Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Bradley Barcola, with the France international spotted in Merseyside on Sunday to complete the first part of his medical ahead of a £123million move. The winger is reportedly set to undergo the remainder of his medical tests today, bringing a blockbuster transfer to Anfield closer this week.
Barcola arrival provides a lift
The impending arrival of the Frenchman will provide a lift after a less-than-satisfactory start to the season, with Liverpool yet to win in their opening two games. Barcola could be joined through the doors at the AXA Training Centre by Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr before the summer window closes on September 1 at 11pm.
Sarr remains top target
Ismaila Sarr remains Liverpool's top target as a new winger, which would allow Cody Gakpo to complete his move to Manchester City. According to Fabrizio Romano, a move to Anfield is desired by the Crystal Palace winger. The Eagles have already rejected two bids from Galatasaray and one from Liverpool.
Minteh talks continue
Liverpool have yet to end talks to sign Yankuba Minteh, despite their reported preference for Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr. The Reds have had two bids rejected for the Brighton winger, but haven't ended negotiations, according to reporter Ben Jacobs. Likely to call the right-wing spot home following Mohamed Salah's departure, the Reds are said to have several irons in the fire when it comes to filling that position.
