Hearts target Faroese winger Aron Benjaminsen as Vrancken bolsters options
Hearts move for Faroese winger Aron Benjaminsen

Hearts have made their move to sign Faroese winger Aron Benjaminsen. The 18-year-old has been identified as a suitable signing via Jamestown Analytics.

Wide options needed

Wouter Vrancken wants a further wide option he can call upon following Alexandros Kyziridis' move to Turkey earlier this month. Calvin Miller and Josh McPake have both arrived at Tynecastle over the summer and slotted in well on either flank.

Benjaminsen has impressed for Vikingur/Gota this term and it is hoped he will be a Hearts player by the time their Faroese Cup Final rolls around on September 5.

Impressive numbers

The Faroe Islands Under 21 international has netted nine goals and provided eight assists in 25 appearances. Benjaminsen offers more depth as well as potential.

While the capital club face competition from other European clubs, they are the favourites to land the wide man. He has been tipped back home to become the first 1 million krona transfer out of the Faroese leagues - around £115,000.
