Megyn Kelly Show Achieves Record-Breaking 138 Million YouTube Views in February
In a stunning revelation, Megyn Kelly has announced that her independent program, The Megyn Kelly Show, garnered approximately twice as many viewers as the entire CBS News roster combined last month. The host took to social media platform X on Thursday to celebrate this impressive February performance, which was later confirmed by the Daily Mail.
Viewership Numbers Eclipse Major News Networks
The show achieved a remarkable 138 million views on YouTube in February alone, compared to CBS News' 70 million views across all its programs. Additionally, the figures placed Kelly ahead of her former employer, NBC News, by a substantial 46 million views. This success was accomplished without the need for a large, expensive newsroom, relying instead on a lean team of just five producers.
Kelly emphasized in her post, "Just our one show with its 5 producers. This isn’t counting our HUGE podcast downloads or other socials. We love our audience & greatly appreciate the support!" She also pointed out that her viewership was 117 million more than that of conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.
Kelly Attributes Success to Audience Demand for Unfiltered News
When contacted for comment on Friday, Kelly elaborated on the reasons behind February's success. She stated, "Americans have had it with corporate agendas and obvious but unacknowledged bias and manipulations. They come to us because they want news that’s unfiltered, interesting, entertaining and real."
Kelly described her show as akin to "catching up with friends," blending news with humor. The February lineup featured diverse content, including an interview with Vice President JD Vance, coverage of the Grammy Awards, and ongoing reports on the search for Nancy Guthrie. Episodes typically run for about two hours, covering topics from politics to entertainment.
Rapid Growth and Competitive Edge
Launched in 2020 from her children's playroom, The Megyn Kelly Show has grown exponentially, now regularly exceeding 100 million views per month. In February, it attracted nearly 140 million views and gained 81,000 new subscribers, marking its most successful month since the November 2024 election.
Kelly's competitors, such as Ben Shapiro, Don Lemon, David Rubin, and Piers Morgan, consistently record tens of millions fewer viewers, with even major news organizations being eclipsed by her coverage. Kelly, an independent voice who has leaned pro-MAGA in recent years while still criticizing figures like Donald Trump on issues such as Iran policy, sees no signs of this growth slowing.
Evolution from Mainstream Media to Independent Conservatism
Kelly left Fox News in 2017 for a brief and unsuccessful stint on NBC's Today show, which ended in October 2018. Reflecting on her ideological shift, she said on a recent episode of her show, "When I was at Fox and then for that year at NBC, I was more in the center. I was like definitely center-right. Now I think I'm pretty conservative. I mean, I just am now."
She attributed this change to her experiences with mainstream media, stating, "What they did to me, they were vicious. They're complete a**holes. Their woke ideology completely radicalized me against them. And I love that. It empowered me in a way that allowed me to see the truth about them." Kelly added that this realization helped her understand her opponents and has shaped her evolving coverage style.
Frank Rhetoric and Future Implications
Kelly's on-air approach remains candid, with praise and criticism delivered spontaneously. This method may soon become a model for news delivery, as audiences increasingly seek authentic content. The Megyn Kelly Show was signed by SiriusXM in 2021 and is available every weekday on YouTube, Apple, and Spotify as a podcast, further expanding its reach and influence in the media landscape.
