Ubisoft has officially announced that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the full remake of the 2013 classic, has reached a critical milestone by going gold. This confirms that the game is ready for production and will meet its scheduled release date of July 9, 2026.
What Does Going Gold Mean?
When a game goes gold, it means the final master disk has been approved and sent to manufacturing for physical copies and digital distribution. This milestone assures fans that no further delays or cancellations will occur, which is especially reassuring given Ubisoft's history with last-minute changes.
Release Date and Platforms
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is set to launch on Thursday, July 9, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There are no plans for a Nintendo Switch 2 release, and the game will skip last-generation consoles entirely.
New Features and Improvements
Unlike a simple remaster, Resynced is built from the ground up using the modern Ubisoft Anvil engine, the same technology powering Assassin's Creed Shadows. Key upgrades include:
- Six hours of new gameplay: Original writer Darby McDevitt returns to pen additional story scenes, expanding on characters like Blackbeard.
- Rebuilt parkour system: Collision detection has been overhauled, and a dedicated crouch button has been added.
- Modern visuals: Caribbean waters, naval combat, and jungles have been reimagined for current-gen hardware.
Ubisoft has removed the controversial modern-day Abstergo office segments to maintain pacing. However, the original multiplayer modes and Freedom Cry DLC will not be included.
