Tonies has launched the Toniebox Lite, its smallest device yet, priced at £59.99. The compact audio player is designed for small hands and works with the full Tonies library.
The Toniebox Lite Starter Set, available from October 5, 2026, offers a more accessible price point than the standard Toniebox 2, which costs £104.99. The set includes a Creative-Tonie, Rubie, which comes with Rubie’s Amazing Adventures already on board.
Compact design for little hands
The new device arrives in a minimal grey design with a compact, hard-shell form, making it ideal for on-the-go use. It features a simple squeeze of the ears to turn the volume up or down, and a tap or tilt to skip, rewind, or fast forward. The Toniebox Lite also includes a sleep timer that gradually lowers the volume before automatically switching off.
Squishy silicone covers are available separately in a range of colours, allowing kids to personalise their Toniebox Lite and adding an extra layer of protection against bumps and sticky hands.
Works with full Tonies library
The Lite design works with the full Tonies library, including Originals and bedtime titles, meaning existing collections can still be used. The only exception is the Tonieplay interactive games, which remain exclusive to the Toniebox 2. New characters are arriving monthly, and once a Tonie has been played for the first time, it can be used again without Wi-Fi. Offline Mode lets parents switch off connectivity as required.
With up to six hours of playtime per charge, the Toniebox Lite works with both wired and Bluetooth headphones. Parents can use the free Tonies app to control the gadget remotely, giving access to volume limits and play time, as well as checking the battery.
Early reviews praise ease of use
Some reviews have been collected as part of a promotion. One person said: "Fun screen free toy. The Toniebox Lite has been so fun to use for my three year-old toddler. The box is perfect for small hands and it’s easy to control."
Another review reads: "The Toniebox Lite My Story Set is a great compact little audio player that you can sync with the app on your phone to set up. It was an easy process and the box itself is also very easy to use."
On Trustpilot, where Tonies has a 4.3 star review score, one person mentioned a minor concern over usability, writing: "My 5-year-old loves it but we found sometimes difficult to operate, connect to new network or connect headphones." However, another user wrote: "I have just bought a Tonie for my nephew...I think they are the best thing since sliced bread."
The Toniebox Lite is available to shop at Tonies.
