Motorola has confirmed the launch of its new Signature 27 flagship Android phone, with UK pre-orders opening on November 16. The device is positioned to challenge Samsung's Galaxy S26 range and includes a processor that the Korean firm cannot currently match.

New processor and display lead the specs

Inside the handset is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. Announced in September, the chip promises a major boost in performance, improved AI capabilities and greater energy efficiency. The Signature 27 is among the first smartphones to feature the new silicon.

The phone also includes an Extreme AMOLED Duo display, which Motorola claims is the brightest screen ever fitted to a smartphone. Audio has been upgraded with technology from Bang & Olufsen, offering deeper bass, clearer vocals and improved sound quality.

Camera and battery highlights

The rear quad-camera system uses a Sony main sensor and includes a 100X Super Zoom. It also features the first-ever dedicated EVS action sensor in a smartphone, designed for sharper shots of moving subjects. The camera setup has earned a Gold Label for image quality from testing experts at DXOMARK.

A Video Enhancement Engine uses AI to analyse scenes in real time, adjusting colour tones during recording. The handset packs a 7,000mAh battery, offering 35 per cent more capacity than the previous generation.

Additional features and availability

Other highlights include Wi-Fi 8 connectivity, Google Gemini-powered smart features and an ArcticMesh cooling system. Motorola Qira, a built-in AI system, is designed to connect and enhance experiences across supported Motorola and Lenovo devices.

The Signature 27 will be available in PANTONE Coal Smoke and PANTONE Capulet Olive, priced at £1,299. Wilkin Lee, Head of Marketing at Motorola UK&I, said: “The motorola signature 27 gives us an exciting opportunity to show consumers what modern Motorola stands for. Our focus is on bringing its innovation to life in meaningful, human ways and giving people a reason to look at Motorola differently.”
