Shopper reviews and alternatives

The device has received a 4.6-star rating on Argos's website. One user said: "Extremely impressed with the performance of this little fitness watch, perfect for tracking exercise and sleep, also very easy to link to the Fitbit app where you can log your caloric intake and hydration." Another added: "I was worried it would be bulky, as I usually hate wearing something on my hand or can feel it. With Fitbit, I have been wearing it 24 hours apart from showers. I forget i even have it on!! Motivates me to walk more and track my sleep and heart rate per minute." A third reviewer noted: "It has helped me tremendously on my path to a healthier me, showing me that I wasn't really drinking enough water, helping me to make smarter choices in the food I eat."

However, one three-star reviewer felt the display was too small, saying: "The display feels too small, making it hard to read stats quickly, especially during workouts." Another reviewer found the watch's face 'clear to read'.

Alternatives include the Garmin Vivosmart 5 at £129, which offers advanced sleep tracking and body battery energy, and the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 at £34 on Amazon, which has a 13-day battery life.

The British Heart Foundation advises: "Fitness trackers are useful when it comes to looking after our health, but it is important to remember they are not medical devices. They cannot replace medical tests and are not designed to give a diagnosis."
