Stacey Solomon reveals favourite thing about new £2m mansion

Stacey Solomon has shared one of her "favourite" things about her new mansion. The Sort Your Life Out star recently announced the family were leaving Pickle Cottage and moving into a new £2m house they are calling "Pickle Project".

The TV presenter, along with her partner Joe Swash, have left their stunning Essex home for a bigger property with more land for their farm animals, crops and vegetable patches. Last week, Stacey shared that the family were leaving "imminently" after years of transforming Pickle Cottage into her dream family home.

Family explores new home

The family have now moved into their new property, which Stacey explained requires a full renovation. She recently shared a video on Instagram as they explored their new home and found some hidden treasures.

After climbing up a ladder to reach the top floor of the house, Stacey revealed an orange bathroom before showing her followers the empty rooms with a fireplace and an old TV. Stacey's dad picked up a leather box before he told the cameras: "Stacey thinks this is a gun, it's definitely an old-fashioned projector."

Stacey's youngest children, daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three, also explored their new home and discovered an old book and a horse riding helmet, a vintage tennis racquet and an old set of dominoes.

Favourite room revealed

Now, the former X-Factor star has revealed even more of the new renovation project to her six million followers. In a video posted to Instagram, she said: "Welcome to the living room, or sitting room or front room, whatever you call it.

"This is one of my favourite rooms in the whole house. It's so beautiful, there's so much light, the windows, the tall ceilings, everything. The floor is lovely, it's like a real wood floor. It definitely needs like a sandbag. I can't wait to hire one of those big sanders and sand it all back, and then it because there's some light changes from the windows.

"But imagine this all in a dark walnut. I can't wait. This is the fireplace of my dreams. It's the biggest fireplace I've seen in my life. I don't think you can get the context of how big it is. It's taller than me. Is it too tall? It's so pretty."

Family's journey from Pickle Cottage

Stacey and Joe spent years renovating Pickle Cottage, which boasted over 2.5 acres of land. The couple share son Rex, seven, and daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three. Stacey also has older sons Zachary, 18, with former partner Dean Cox, and Leighton, 14, with ex-fiance Aaron Barham.

In the original post, Stacey told her fans: "We are leaving Pickle Cottage, which I never ever thought I would say. We're moving imminently. Leaving Pickle Cottage was a massive, massive decision for us.

Pickle Cottage was the subject of their recent fly-on-the-wall documentary. The couple invited viewers into their home as part of the BBC series, called "Stacey & Joe".

The programme followed their daily life as they documented the highs and lows of life, juggling work, play, parenting and their ever-growing menagerie of pets - four ducks, four ducklings and two dogs.

In the opening series, viewers watched across six episodes as moments from the life of Stacey and Joe were shown to millions. Special moments included Stacey winning an NTA, the couple navigating Joe's ADHD diagnosis and their son receiving his GCSE results.
