Blizzard has released Diablo 4 update 3.1.1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The patch brings significant changes to the base game, the Vessel of Hatred expansion, and the Season of Death Awakening content. While primarily a bug-fix update, it includes several tweaks that enhance gameplay, particularly for players hunting Iconic Mythics.
Increased Chance for Iconic Mythics
The most notable change in update 3.1.1 is an increased chance for naturally dropped Mythics to be an Iconic Mythic. This should make it easier for players to obtain these highly sought-after items. Additionally, the update fixes an issue that prevented certain sources of Uniques from dropping as Mythic, including Lair Bosses.
Season of Death Awakening Improvements
For the current season, Blizzard has made several adjustments to streamline progression. The Seasonal Reputation Board has been added to Temis, and Deathtoll Chambers will now always reward at least one Superior Lair Key in high Torment levels. The Corrupted Reaper now drops up to two Pandemonium Fragments, scaling with Torment level, and repeatable Glints of Hope Reputation Rewards now guarantee a Pandemonium Fragment. Furthermore, the cost of the Upgrade to Mythic recipe on the Horadric Cube has been reduced from 5 to 4 Pandemonium Fragments. According to Blizzard, these changes should make it easier to unlock seasonal rewards.
Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
Update 3.1.1 addresses numerous bugs across all areas of the game. In the Season of Death Awakening, fixes include issues with the Season Rank objective Terrorize The Night, the Artificer’s Obelisk displaying a beta tag, clipping on Gloamstrider's Barding Mount Armor, and Nemesis Lair failing to trigger. Other fixes ensure Tower rewards are distributed correctly, map loading in Dark Refuge dungeon, and Forgotten Souls dropping from Whisper Caches in Torment levels.
For the expansion, the patch fixes a Paladin issue where Damage with Holy was not showing in Stats and Materials, and a Spiritborn issue where Stinger could deal more damage than intended. Warlock changes include increased clarity on selected Soul Shard and fixes for the Brutal Aspect’s tooltip and Mefis set bonuses. War Plans fixes prevent Wretched Vermin appearing in town during Helltides and ensure bosses drop loot correctly.
Base game bug fixes address Barbarian, Druid, and Rogue class issues. The Druid's toggled skills could sometimes gain more damage than intended from the Storm Shepherd's Call Talisman set, while the Rogue's Shadow Clone could cause additional Shrine effects. Miscellaneous fixes include Pangs of Duriel spawning correctly, incorrect wardrobe icons, and various performance, stability, clipping, and texture fixes.
