The tool, developed by Kagi Translate, allows users to input plain English and receive a version dripping with buzzwords like 'synergy', 'leverage', and 'strategic alignment'.
For example, the phrase 'I just saw a lovely donkey' becomes 'I recently had a powerful reminder that consistent effort and carrying the heavy loads often go unrecognised, yet they are the backbone of any successful operation.' Even more absurd inputs, such as 'I pooped my pants,' are transformed into 'Today I faced an unexpected challenge that pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to pivot in real-time.'
The app also works in reverse, allowing users to paste in actual LinkedIn updates and receive plain-English translations. For instance, 'Under our Corporate Strategy 2027, we have outlined our aim to drive growth through synergies across existing business segments' becomes 'Our plan basically boils down to hoping our different departments actually talk to each other so we can finally make some money.'
Kagi Translate also offers a Gen Z translator, though the company has not provided details on how that functions. The tool appears to be used both by those genuinely seeking to fit in on the professional networking site and by others simply curious to see how their everyday thoughts are rendered in corporate speak.
