2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo Review: Dual 16-Inch Screens Redefine Gaming Laptops
2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo Review: Dual 16-Inch Screens

The 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo is a masterpiece of engineering, offering the world's first dual 16-inch screen gaming laptop. After testing it, I find it hard to return to single-screen devices.

Design and Features

The laptop boasts a 16-inch 3K (2880 x 1800) ROG Nebula HDR OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and 1100 nits brightness. Two such displays are included. The model tested features an NVIDIA RTX 5090 laptop GPU with 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 1824 AI TOPS, paired with Intel's Panther Lake Ultra 9 386H CPU (16 cores, 4.9 GHz boost, 50 AI TOPS NPU). It offers up to 64GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 2TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD. I/O includes HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an SD card reader. The CNC-machined aluminium chassis features an excimer coating for a smudge-resistant matte finish. A detachable wireless keyboard (5.1mm thick) with 1.7mm key travel, RGB, and a large touchpad is included.

Performance and Dual-Screen Modes

The laptop offers five modes: dual screen (stacked), laptop (keyboard on bottom screen), sharing (both flat), book (vertical side-by-side), and tent (A-frame). In dual-screen mode, the extra screen real estate boosts productivity. For gaming, only one screen is typically used, and running both impacts performance. Nonetheless, Forza Horizon 6 runs at 70 fps natively and over 200 fps with DLSS 4, while Cyberpunk 2077 achieves 55 fps natively and over 160 fps with DLSS. The dual screens are ideal for streaming or content creation.

Overall Thoughts

The 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo delivers a genuine wow factor with its dual 3K OLED screens, top-tier performance, and premium build. At £5,799, it's prohibitively expensive but offers an unparalleled experience for those with a matching budget.
