Spain will face England or Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final after defeating France 2-0 in Arlington, Texas. The winners of Wednesday's second semi-final between England and Argentina will meet La Roja on Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The losers will play France in the third-place play-off in Miami on Saturday.
When and Where is the World Cup Final?
The final kicks off at 8pm BST (3pm local time ET) on Sunday, July 19. The venue, MetLife Stadium, has a capacity of 82,500 (reduced to 80,663 for the World Cup) and is home to the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. Due to FIFA sponsorship rules, it is referred to as New York/New Jersey Stadium during the tournament. The stadium has hosted seven World Cup matches, including England's 2-0 win over Panama, Norway's shock last-16 win over Brazil, and France's round-of-32 victory over Sweden.
Half-Time Show and Closing Ceremony
The USA is adopting a Super Bowl-style approach with an 11-minute half-time show. Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay are set to perform. Coldplay's Chris Martin curated the show, which will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. A closing ceremony will precede the final, featuring Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, and IShowSpeed. Jennifer Hudson will perform the American national anthem.
