England have advanced to the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup after a 2-1 victory over DR Congo at Atlanta Stadium. Thomas Tuchel's squad will now face Mexico in Mexico City on Monday, July 6, with a 1am kick-off time. The match is expected to end around 3am if no extra time or penalties are required.
Late-Night Licensing Restrictions
While many pubs were granted extended hours for the World Cup, current rules allow venues to stay open only until 1am for knockout matches kicking off between 5pm and 9pm, and until 2am for matches starting between 9pm and 10pm. As a result, only venues with late-night licences can screen the England vs Mexico match. The Manchester Evening News has compiled a list of confirmed venues.
