Uganda removed from World Cup of Darts after visa denial
Uganda out of World Cup of Darts due to visa issues

Uganda's debut at the World Cup of Darts has been cancelled after the team was denied entry to Germany. The pairs event begins Thursday in Frankfurt, but Patrick Ocheng and Juma Said could not obtain visas. Malawi, the African qualifier runners-up, also failed to secure visas in time, allowing Gibraltar to replace them in Group D.

Gibraltar steps in

Gibraltar's team of Craig Galliano and Justin Hewitt will now face Ireland and Singapore. They play their group matches on Friday. A PDC statement confirmed the visa issues for both African teams and the substitution.

Tournament favourites

England's Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, the world's top two players, are hot favourites. Last year, they were eliminated by Germany in the second round. Littler said, 'Hopefully we can get an easier draw this year.' Humphries, who won in 2024 with Michael Smith, added, 'We're both in rich form and really up for it.'
