Derek McInnes is set to make major defensive changes for Rangers' Conference League play-off second leg at FK Jablonec, with Ben Godfrey and Kosta Nedeljkovic pushing for starts. The Ibrox side travel to the Czech Republic with a 1-0 lead from the first leg at Ibrox.
Defensive decisions loom
McInnes must make several big calls at the back as he looks to secure group-stage football. The central pairing of Emmanuel Fernandez and Olwethu Makhanya has been regular in recent weeks, but Fernandez has endured a poor start to the campaign and his position is under threat.
Fernandez has been criticised by supporters for lapses in concentration and poor positional play as Rangers have toiled in their opening two Premiership fixtures and crashed out of the Europa League to Jagiellonia Bialystok. Fit-again Ben Godfrey, on loan from Atalanta and a former England international, could replace him.
New faces in defence
Godfrey picked up an injury on the opening night of the domestic season at Dundee United but is available again. McInnes is expected to partner him with Makhanya, who has impressed since arriving from Philadelphia Union. James Penrice, signed from AEK Athens, will deputise at left-back for the injured Tuur Rommens.
On the right side, both Dujon Sterling and Ross McCrorie have failed to impress, prompting the club to sign Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa. The 20-year-old Serb arrived on loan with an obligation to buy should conditions be met, including games played. He made his debut from the bench in the first leg and is fit and ready to start.
Midfield and attack changes
Nico Raskin missed the first leg with an ankle knock and hasn't travelled amid transfer interest. With Cammy Devlin suspended after his red card, Dan Neil should slot into midfield. In attack, Ryan Naderi is expected to start again after scoring two goals in his last two games.
