Monton restaurant to relaunch as nightlife venue

Dino's Bar and Kitchen, also known as Zozo's, on Monton Road could become a nightlife venue if Salford Council approves its refurbishment plans. The Turkish eatery closed in January for 'exciting changes' and has applied for an updated premises license.

New license application

If approved at a licensing hearing next week, the venue would offer live music, dance, theatre performances, film screenings, and indoor sporting events. New opening hours would be 9am to midnight Sunday to Thursday, and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, joining Monton's growing nightlife scene.

The new owners, Monton Lounge Limited, have also applied to open at 8am for staff and have an extra 30 minutes after closing to disperse crowds.

History of the venue

The venue was once home to Leo's, a popular Italian restaurant that closed in September 2024. It was then taken over by Istanbul Limited and relaunched as Dino's, or Zozo's online. After a year, with a 4.8-star TripAdvisor rating, it changed hands again, aiming for the nightlife entertainment scene.

In January, a post on Zozo's social media said: "We have some very exciting changes coming soon. In the meantime, the restaurant will be temporarily closed. Keep your eyes peeled!" No further updates have been made, despite locals expressing excitement and impatience.

Licensing hearing

A licensing hearing will be held at 9.30am on Monday at the town hall to decide the new conditions. A total of 16 representations have been received, which could include support or opposition to the plans.
