Passengers on a Jet2 Holidays flight from Palma de Mallorca to Bristol faced lengthy delays after the plane's wingtip was struck by boarding stairs.
Flight LS1872, due to depart at 10:25am and land in Bristol, was halted and passengers were forced to disembark the Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Passenger describes collision
One passenger, Finley, described the incident: "I'm in Palma airport and a ground stairs vehicle has just hit the wing tip of our Jet2Holidays B737 Max 8 aircraft."
He explained that after boarding, they were told of a two-hour delay due to an "air traffic restriction." An hour later, they were told they were good to go, but minutes later the ground vehicle collided with the wing tip.
Extended delay and departure
Passengers were sent back to the terminal, waited about another hour, then were allowed to re-board. The later flight was due to depart at 3pm local time (2pm UK time) and land back in the UK at 4pm, more than four hours late.
Finley added: "We were only here for a few nights, but after getting a taxi at 7.30am this morning for a short drive, to be boarding for the second time six hours after arriving, it's a nightmare. But we're relieved to be getting on it now."
