Liam Davies is set to defend his EBU featherweight title against Nathaniel Collins on Saturday, September 26, with the fight broadcast live on DAZN. The event, promoted by Frank Warren, takes place in Birmingham and also features Nathan Heaney, Gerome Warburton, and Olympian Luke McCormack.
Title defence and rivalry
The rivalry between Davies and Collins comes to a head this weekend, with Davies fighting to move beyond the domestic stage. His opponent, Glasgow's 'The Nightmare' Collins, is the former British, Commonwealth, and WBC Silver champion. Both fighters hold strong records in the ring.
Promoter Frank Warren said: "There will be absolutely no quarter given in this first clutch of fights we are announcing for Birmingham on Saturday 26 September." He added: "Both have got strong world title ambitions and a fight of this quality will allow one of them to issue a massive statement of intent."
