Tyson Fury has confirmed his next fight will be against Mariusz Wach in Thailand next month, serving as a warm-up for a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua. The bout is scheduled for July 24, one day before Joshua's comeback fight against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia.
Fury's Return to the Ring
This will be Fury's first fight since a deadly car accident in Nigeria in December 2025, in which two of his close friends were killed. The 37-year-old British heavyweight came out of retirement in April 2026 to defeat Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision, after which he called out Joshua, who was seated ringside.
Fury has stated that Joshua's accident inspired his return, saying: "When I heard that news, it was so sad, and I thought to myself, 'Life is very short,' and I've been a very big advocate of saying, 'There is no tomorrow.' Tomorrow is not promised to anybody. When things like that happen, it certainly certifies that there is no tomorrow. You've got to live every day like it's your last."
Opponent Profile: Mariusz Wach
Fury's opponent, Mariusz Wach, is a 46-year-old Polish heavyweight standing 6ft7in tall. He has won 39 of his 51 career fights, with 20 knockouts. However, he has only three wins in his last ten fights and was stopped in two rounds by Moses Itauma in July 2024.
Path to Anthony Joshua
Both Fury and Joshua must win their respective fights to set up a bout against each other, which is hoped to take place before the end of 2026. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has claimed the fighters are contractually obligated to stage that fight in the UK.
