Connor Ronan to Complete Aberdeen Transfer with Two-Year Contract
Connor Ronan to Sign Two-Year Deal with Aberdeen

Connor Ronan is poised to complete his move to Aberdeen when the transfer window opens next week, with the Republic of Ireland U21 international set to sign a two-year contract. Record Sport exclusively revealed last month that the Colorado Rapids midfielder was a primary target for Dons manager Stephen Robinson.

The 28-year-old has now agreed terms on a deal that will keep him at Pittodrie until the summer of 2028, with an option for an additional 12 months. The transfer includes various incentive fees for Colorado, as Ronan pushed to make the move happen after Robinson expressed his interest. Ronan previously worked under Robinson during a loan spell at St Mirren from Wolves.

Further Transfer Activity

Aberdeen are also awaiting confirmation to sign Toyosi Olusanya on a permanent basis, pending Houston Dynamo forgoing their option year. Olusanya spent last season on loan at Aberdeen and is eager to remain at the club.

The Dons will welcome new recruits Connor Ronan, Lewis Mayo, Alexander Briedl, and Dan Happe for pre-season training. Brad Lyons is also expected to join but may receive additional time off due to his Northern Irish international commitments at the end of the season.

Squad Adjustments

Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel is now focused on player departures to reduce the wage bill and generate funds for Robinson to strengthen further. Goalkeeper Per Bratveit is the first to leave, having opted to terminate the final year of his contract.

Ex-Dundee United keeper Dave Richards is on Aberdeen's radar, but it is likely that Nick Suman will need to depart before a move for Richards can be finalised.
