The Church View Inn in Lunts Heath, Cheshire, will close to customers from Tuesday, September 1 for a major refurbishment. The Greene King pub is expected to reopen later this autumn following a six-figure investment.
Refurbishment plans for the pub
Located on Lunts Heath Road, the family-friendly pub will shut while the work is carried out. The refurbishment is designed to give the venue a fresh new look while retaining its welcoming character.
The pub’s front garden will be upgraded with additional seating, festoon lighting and new signage. The improvements will create an attractive space for guests to enjoy alfresco drinks and dining.
Interior upgrades and reopening
Inside, the Church View Inn will receive modern furnishings, new flooring and an enhanced bar area. The toilets will also be completely refurbished as part of the investment.
When it reopens, Greene King says the pub will offer something for everyone, from casual drinks and meals to sports viewing and entertainment. The changes are intended to create a cosy and inviting destination for both families and friends.
Greene King’s wider portfolio
The closure comes as Greene King continues to operate dozens of pubs across the North West, including venues in Liverpool such as the Pump House, Lime Street Central, Willow Bank Tavern, Royal Standard and Sefton Arms. Meanwhile, the future of another local pub, the Bridge Inn in Port Sunlight, has recently been secured.
The Port Sunlight Village Trust (PSVT) acquired the freehold of the Bridge Inn on Bolton Road after successfully bidding for the historic building. The Trust will work with the existing leaseholders, Greene King, and add the pub to its portfolio of commercial properties.
The Bridge Inn has been part of Port Sunlight since it was built in 1900, and its acquisition has been welcomed by the local community. PSVT chief executive Mike Ward said the move will help secure a key village asset and allow the charity to play a greater role in shaping its future.
