Eleven people have been killed after a tourist plane carrying skydivers crashed in Tomblaine, near Nancy in northwest France, on Sunday morning. The aircraft went down on Rue Salvador Allende at around 11am local time, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Police Warn of Explosion Risk
Meurthe-et-Moselle National Police urged the public to avoid the area, stating on X: 'Absolutely avoid the area around Rue Salvador Allende. To allow clear access for emergency services and law enforcement, do not go there.' Authorities also warned that the crash site poses a risk of explosion.

The civilian aircraft had taken off from Nancy-Essey aerodrome and was carrying a group of skydivers on a training flight when it crashed, according to local reports. Local mayor Yves Séguy confirmed there were 11 casualties. The identities of the victims have not been publicly released.
