Footage shared on social media shows ecstatic Spain fans dancing on the roofs of cars in central London well into the early hours of Monday morning. Fans could be seen waving flags and chanting while car horns blared in the background. Trafalgar Square was full of music and singing, with joyous fans being thrown into the air in celebration.

As fans celebrated on the streets and in bars in London, congratulatory messages flooded social media back in Spain. Spain's prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, wrote on X: “WE ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!” The country's royal family also congratulated the team, calling the win a “triumph that will remain forever in the history of Spanish sport”. King Felipe was at the match in New Jersey, and was seen congratulating the players after the win alongside Queen Letizia and their daughter, Princess Leonor.

Tennis stars past and present celebrated the win on social media. Rafael Nadal shared a video of himself reacting to the win with the caption: “LET’S GOOOOO … WORLD CHAMPIONS FOR THE SECOND TIME!’” Carlos Alcaraz, who was in the stadium, posted: “LET’S GO SPAIN!!!!!!!!!!!”
High-Profile Attendees at the Final
United States President Donald Trump was among dozens of high-profile figures at the match, along with Sir David Beckham, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Mick Jagger, and Timothee Chalamet. The US President handed the trophy to Spain captain Rodri after the match and appeared reluctant to leave the podium. Despite Rodri and FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s efforts to guide him away, Mr Trump was clearly in shot as the trophy was raised aloft.
