Scoop Festival Cancelled for 2026 but Confirms Return in 2027
Scoop Festival Cancelled 2026, Returns 2027

Scoop Festival, a popular music event in Lanchester, County Durham, has been cancelled for 2026 due to insufficient ticket sales, but organisers have confirmed it will return in 2027, with many acts from this year's line-up already committed to performing.

Cancellation Due to Low Ticket Sales

The festival, which was set to take place from July 23 to 26, 2026, was called off just days before it was due to start. In a statement, organisers explained: "We just couldn't reach that point in ticket sales to make the festival financially viable to run. We hope you understand and we hope to see you next year." The announcement came after a rallying call for local support just weeks earlier.

2027 Return Confirmed

Following an outpouring of support, Scoop returned to Facebook on Tuesday morning with a positive update, confirming the festival will be back from July 29 to August 1, 2027. The statement read: "A huge thank you to every one of you who has chosen to roll your 2026 tickets over to Scoop Fest 27. Your support, loyalty and belief in what we're building means more than words can say." Organisers also promised a special surprise for those who carried over tickets.

Acts Rebooked for 2027

Many acts originally scheduled for 2026 have already committed to performing in 2027. The 2026 line-up was set to include K-Klass in the Dance Tent, along with local acts The Skapones, Swindled, and National Anthems. Last year's festival featured headliner Paul Weller, dance icons K-Klass, and tributes to Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, and Blink 182.

Fan Reaction

Fans have responded enthusiastically to the 2027 announcement. One festival-goer commented: "Dates booked in!! Looking forward to it," while another wrote: "We will be there wouldn't miss it." The cancellation post also drew a huge reaction, with many expressing disappointment but understanding.

Scoop Festival is in its sixth year and has become a staple event in the North East. Organisers are now focused on building momentum for 2027, urging fans to "save the date, spread the word."
