Tijjani Reijnders is in advanced talks with Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah as a £50million deal for the Manchester City midfielder progresses.
Reijnders attended City's open training session on Thursday but is in discussions over a move to the Middle East and looks set to leave the Etihad just a year after arriving from AC Milan.
Interest and Departure
Reijnders had attracted interest from Nottingham Forest this summer, but Al Qadsiah are poised to secure the 28-year-old's signature.
Should Reijnders' exit be completed, City will look to add another midfielder and have been linked with Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez, with the Stamford Bridge club reportedly setting a Friday deadline for bids for the Argentina international.
City's Transfer Plans
Chelsea have already broken their club record transfer fee to sign Elliot Anderson for £116m and remain keen on adding Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Any replacement for Reijnders would be on top of those deals, while City would also seek to sign a replacement for Rodri, who remains keen on a move to Barcelona.
Chelsea are seeking a package worth £70million for the World Cup winner, and Barcelona have failed to make an acceptable offer during their talks so far. Rodri, who has undergone minor back surgery this summer, is due back at City on Friday.
Other Squad News
Savinho was also absent from training on Thursday, but club sources have clarified the winger is ill. The 22-year-old is the subject of longstanding interest from Tottenham amid the prospect of a £60m move to the capital.
Jack Grealish was among the players training in the Manchester sun, with the winger having missed the pre-season tour of Asia to continue working his way back to full fitness.
