Rangers have reportedly had a bid in excess of £8m for long-time Celtic target Fares Ghedjemis turned down by Frosinone. The move is not expected to be the end of the matter, as both Glasgow clubs continue to pursue the in-demand winger.
Both Glasgow clubs in pursuit
Algeria international Ghedjemis has been tracked by Celtic for months, but a bid was rejected last week with Rangers circling. Now Sky Sport Italia have revealed that Derek McInnes' men are back at the table in a bid to gazump their rivals in the pursuit of the Serie B standout.
Rangers are on the brink of landing Japan winger Daisuke Yokota and have been linked with Oguz Aydin. Ghedjemis appears to be back on the radar as McInnes searches for a jolt in the final third of the pitch.
Celtic's interest
Martin O'Neill has publicly spoken about Ghedjemis and admits he is a player he wants to join Celtic. An old-school battle between Glasgow's big two appears to be well underway.
Ghedjemis is expected to leave Frosinone this summer, and Scotland appears a likely next destination.
