Tromso sporting director Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen has admitted the club are 'preparing' to lose Rangers target Jens Hjerto-Dahl before the end of the summer transfer window. The transfer chief is under no illusions about how challenging replacing the Norway U21 star will be.
Transfer Battle Heats Up
Rangers have been long-term admirers of the 20-year-old and saw a £5.3million bid rejected for the midfielder earlier this month. English Championship side Cardiff City are also keen and have reportedly offered £7.8million to bring him to Wales. Hjerto-Dahl has indicated that a move to Ibrox is appealing.
The 6ft 4in playmaker lined up for Tromso in the first leg of their Conference League showdown with Hradec Kralove on Thursday. Before the game, Kræmer-Andressen reiterated the club's stance on their prized assets.
Kræmer-Andressen's Comments
Speaking to I Tromso, he said: "We have to be prepared for some movement this window as there was no movement in the last window. We have been quite clear about that all along, so it is nothing new or surprising that there is interest in several of our players."
He added: "Building a new team during a period of playing in Europe will not be good. TIL has the ability to replace players, but replacing three such key players is unrealistic."
Rangers' Other Transfer News
Rangers completed their seventh signing of the window with the capture of Serbia star Vanja Dragojevic from Partizan Belgrade on Thursday. They have also been linked with Philadelphia Union centre back Olwethu Makhanya. The South Africa international has refused to return to the club after a £3million offer from an unnamed Belgian Pro League side was rejected.
Union head coach Ryan Richter confirmed the player remains absent due to 'personal reasons'. He said: "I have worked with Olwethu since he first joined the club, and we have a good personal relationship. But right now, he is away from the club for personal reasons, and we will leave it at that for now."
