Crystal Palace Launch £35m Bid for Tottenham's Brennan Johnson
Palace push for £35m Johnson deal from Tottenham

Crystal Palace are making a concerted effort to secure an early deal for Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson, with discussions centring on an offer worth approximately £35 million.

Palace Aim to Bolster Glasner's Attack

The South London club are keen to strengthen manager Oliver Glasner's squad following a recent dip in form. Securing the 24-year-old Wales international is seen as a key move to provide a spark for the Austrian coach's system. However, there is growing uncertainty over Glasner's own long-term future at Selhurst Park, with reports suggesting he is increasingly unlikely to extend his stay beyond this season.

Johnson's Situation at Tottenham

Brennan Johnson, who faced Palace in Sunday's Premier League fixture, is understood to be frustrated at his lack of starting opportunities under Spurs boss Thomas Frank this campaign. Despite this, sources indicate the player is in no particular rush to force an exit from the North London club.

Frank publicly stated last week that Johnson remains an important part of his plans. Nevertheless, Tottenham's pursuit of other attacking options means they could consider substantial offers for the forward to help balance their spending in other areas.

Competition and Other Palace Targets

Palace are not alone in their interest. Bournemouth have also registered tentative interest in Johnson, though they are concurrently discussing a move for Leicester City's Abdul Fatawu as they seek a replacement for Antoine Semenyo.

Other Premier League admirers include Everton and Aston Villa, but it is believed those clubs may delay any formal move until the summer transfer window.

In their wider recruitment drive, Crystal Palace are also prepared to rival West Ham United for Wolverhampton Wanderers' striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. The Eagles have also expressed interest in Manchester City's promising young winger Oscar Bobb, who has attracted attention from Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, and Fulham.

Furthermore, the club holds an interest in Auxerre midfielder Kevin Danois, a player who has also been scouted by Newcastle United.

Guehi's Expected Departure

While looking to bring players in, Palace are braced for a major departure in the summer. Defender Marc Guehi is expected to see out the season at Selhurst Park, with Liverpool remaining the strong favourites to secure his signature when the window reopens.
