Manchester United are reportedly preparing offers totalling £69m for Eduardo Camavinga and Alejandro Balde as the summer transfer window prepares to close on Tuesday.
The Red Devils have already completed significant business under Michael Carrick, with Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos, Karl Darlow and, most recently, Carlos Baleba joining the first-team squad. However, it appears the club are not finished yet.
Camavinga and Balde targeted
Journalist PacoJo Delgado reports that moves for Real Madrid's Camavinga and Barcelona's Balde could come to fruition. According to Delgado, an intermediary has suggested that United will table a £43m offer for Camavinga before the deadline. The journalist also revealed that a £26m approach for Balde is being drawn up.
United are known to be seeking reinforcement at left-back. Luke Shaw, 31, is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, with the club keen to identify a long-term replacement. Lewis Hall had been earmarked for the role, but Newcastle United are refusing to part with the 21-year-old, leaving United to explore other options.
Balde and Camavinga situations
Balde, a Barcelona academy graduate, has dropped down the pecking order under Hansi Flick and has asked agent Jorge Mendes to secure him a new club for the season. The 22-year-old could prove an ideal solution for United's left-back issue.
Regarding Camavinga, a move for the Real Madrid star appears less probable over the coming week given the recent signing of Baleba. United now have an abundance of options in central midfield and are expected to deploy their resources more wisely in other areas.
Further attacking reinforcements
United may also look to strengthen their attacking options in the closing stages of the window, particularly with Joshua Zirkzee's departure appearing increasingly inevitable. The Dutchman has struggled to make an impact since arriving from Bologna two years ago and has been linked with Juventus, Fiorentina and Como.
Reports also indicate that United have been connected with a late move for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is currently involved in a contractual dispute with Crystal Palace.
