Man Utd Track Angelo Stiller as £44m Transfer Decision Looms
Man Utd handed £44m Angelo Stiller transfer update

Manchester United are maintaining a close watch on VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, with a potential transfer move being considered for the summer window.

United's Persistent Interest in German Talent

The Red Devils have continued their observation of the 23-year-old Germany international after initially showing interest during the previous summer transfer period. United's recruitment team ultimately pursued other targets at that time, bringing in Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens instead.

With signs of progress emerging under manager Ruben Amorim this campaign, the upcoming transfer windows are viewed as crucial for United's continued development. The midfield has been identified as a particular area requiring reinforcement, with several candidates being linked to Old Trafford.

Stiller's Profile and Contract Situation

Stiller presents an appealing option for United, potentially offering significantly better value compared to Premier League-based alternatives. Sky Sports Germany reported in October that United remain keen observers of the player, who signed a new contract with Stuttgart in January that runs until 2028.

The German club could demand a fee exceeding €50 million (approximately £44 million) to sanction his departure next summer. Stuttgart's sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth addressed the speculation surrounding Stiller's future during an appearance on Sky 90.

"He has a contract with us. It's far too early to speculate about that," Wohlgemuth stated. "Of course, one or two clubs will have had their eye on him. He's having an outstanding season. Maybe he'll even play in a World Cup, we'll see. We're happy he's with us."

Potential Midfield Reshuffle at Old Trafford

A move for Stiller could coincide with significant changes in United's midfield department. While Casemiro's contract runs until 2026 and he has delivered notable performances this term, questions remain about his long-term prospects beyond the summer window.

The situations of Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte also contribute to the potential reshuffle, with both finding game time limited this season as Bruno Fernandes operates in a more advanced role. This has raised doubts about their respective futures at the club.

Stiller has featured 18 times across all competitions this campaign, contributing one goal and five assists during that period. His consistent performances have established him as a key figure for Stuttgart and attracted attention from several clubs, with United positioned among his potential suitors as they plan their summer transfer strategy.
