Manchester United continue to be linked with a host of names as the club looks to strengthen Michael Carrick's squad ahead of the new campaign. The latest reports suggest a bargain opportunity for Jarrod Bowen and a new name in the race for Jhon Lucumi.
Bowen available for £15m next summer
According to talkSPORT, West Ham's Jarrod Bowen could be available for as little as £15 million next summer if the Hammers fail to win promotion this season. The report also claims that Bowen's previous release clause as a Premier League player was significantly higher.
Bowen, who is captain of West Ham, confirmed last month that he would be staying at the London Stadium to lead their push for promotion after the club's 14-year stay in the top flight ended in May. He said: "There's a lot of thinking time over the summer and a lot of things that go in your head. For me I look in years and years to come of when I retire… what's going to bring me the most happiness? It was a no-brainer. The main motivation is staying and bringing this club back into the Premier League, where we belong."
United 'enter' Lucumi race
Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi, according to Quotidiano Sportivo. The 28-year-old Colombia international has just 12 months left on his current contract and is a former team-mate of Joshua Zirkzee at Bologna.
The report claims that Lucumi only wants to join a 'big club' if he leaves Bologna this summer, with Chelsea also named as a possible destination.
