Manchester United are considering dropping their interest in Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall and switching focus to Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Red Devils boss Michael Carrick is said to be a big fan of England defender Hall, and had identified him as a key transfer target this summer. Newcastle have already sold Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali since the end of last season, and could yet lose Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal, although they have received big transfer fees for those leaving St James' Park.
Hall would command another large sum, but Newcastle are not interested in selling the 21-year-old, who was unlucky to miss out on Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad. Boyhood Newcastle fan Hall arrived from Chelsea and will be an important part of Matthias Jaissle's squad this coming season.
Lewis-Skelly emerges as alternative
Manchester United are now set to turn their attentions to Arsenal's Lewis-Skelly as Carrick looks for a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw at left-back. Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakout season in 2024-25 but found first-team football harder to come by last term, although he was used in central midfield toward the end of the campaign.
The Gunners may be reluctant sellers, but need to help finance Mikel Arteta's big plans, with Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior a target, along with Bruno Guimaraes.
Inter close on Jones
Inter Milan are ready to pay £30m to take Curtis Jones from Liverpool, according to the Mail. The Reds midfielder looks set to leave Anfield, with one bid already rejected. However, the next offer will be closer to Liverpool's £35m valuation of the 25-year-old academy graduate, with a deal potentially close.
Inter signed ex-Man City defender John Stones on a free transfer last week.
Osimhen interest
Victor Osimhen could be heading to the Premier League after all, with reports suggesting Tottenham are set to continue their summer spending with a £50m bid for the striker. Newcastle had previously been linked with the Nigerian, but Galatasaray want closer to £65m for the frontman. He has scored 59 goals in just 74 appearances for the Turkish Super Lig club.
