Manchester United and Liverpool have both joined the race to sign Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara, according to Foot Mercato. Crystal Palace are also said to be keen on the 22-year-old, who has attracted interest from English clubs for some time.
Monaco seek £43m for Camara
Monaco are reportedly looking for £43m for the player, who has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea. Camara came through the Generation Foot academy and played for Metz before joining his current club. He was also a key part of Senegal's World Cup 2026 squad, appearing in all four games as they advanced from their group before being eliminated by Belgium in the round of 32.
United have already spent more than £80m this summer on new arrivals, with Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos joining for sizeable fees. However, with Casemiro's exit and Manuel Ugarte's injury, another midfield addition could be on the cards.
Rashford's future still uncertain
Marcus Rashford has returned to the Manchester United camp, along with Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, after deep World Cup runs. MEN Sport understands that the most likely outcome is Rashford being reintegrated at Old Trafford for the new season, though a buyer could still emerge.
Barcelona had an option to sign Rashford for £26m at the end of their loan arrangement but allowed it to lapse. A similar bid from another club could still be enough to land the forward, but no such offer has been made so far.
United drew with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday in their pre-season campaign, with injury scares for Mason Mount and Tom Heaton, though neither is thought to be serious. With less than two weeks until the league opener at Hull, manager Michael Carrick is preparing to have a full squad available for the final stretch of pre-season.
"We have got a full squad this week in Dublin," Carrick said. "We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together. Marcus is part of that, and Kobbie and Lisandro. We look forward to seeing them."
