Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison is close to agreeing a season-long loan move to League One side Sheffield Wednesday.
Morrison made his first-team breakthrough with the Reds last year and featured during the early stages of pre-season, scoring the first goal of the Andoni Iraola era in the 4-2 friendly win over Sunderland in Nashville last month.
However, the 19-year-old winger has seen his minutes limited since the United States tour and played only 24 minutes from the bench in the 70-minute second-string friendly against Como at Kirkby on Sunday.
Loan moves for young Reds
Morrison, who penned a new Liverpool contract in the summer, is now poised to spend the remainder of the campaign at Sheffield Wednesday, with the Yorkshire side having moved to the head of a list that includes a number of clubs both domestic and overseas.
With the full senior squad now back together following the World Cup, Liverpool are expected to sanction a number of loan moves for players who were involved during the warm-up programme.
Ifeanyi Ndukwe, the 18-year-old centre-back who has impressed since arriving from Austria Vienna this summer, is ineligible to play for Liverpool this year with a few clubs now being considered for a loan move with a decision expected in the coming days.
Other loan decisions pending
Luke Chambers is wanted by a number of Championship clubs including Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers although the Reds, similar to attacker Lewis Koumas, will determine nearer deadline day on September 1 whether to loan the defender.
But one proposed move that is now on hold is James McConnell's loan to Championship side Preston North End.
