Liverpool have yet to make a senior addition to their squad in the January transfer window, with former winger Jermaine Pennant warning that failing to sign a right-back could be a gamble. Conor Bradley is out for the season with a knee injury, leaving the Reds short of cover.
Pennant told talkSPORT: 'I'm very disappointed in hearing that Liverpool won't be signing a right-back. We are injury prone and down to bare bones with lots of games coming. If we get one more injury, it could destroy our season.'
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s reported interest in RB Leipzig defender Yan Diomande appears complicated. The Ivorian is valued at £86 million and is under contract until 2030. Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund declined to comment on speculation, saying, 'Whenever a young player performs well, he gets linked with Bayern.'
