Liverpool Plot £100m Alexander Isak Swoop From Newcastle

Liverpool are preparing a £100 million bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, who has reportedly requested to leave St James' Park. The Reds have already had a £110 million offer rejected, with Newcastle demanding closer to £150 million for the Swedish international, who has three years remaining on his contract.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe admitted he is "clueless" about Isak's future, revealing he has had no contact with the player, who remains away from the squad during their pre-season tour of Asia. Liverpool are prepared to walk away if a deal cannot be agreed.

Former Newcastle striker Les Ferdinand warned that Liverpool would need Isak to "throw his toys out the pram" to force a move, as the Magpies are under no pressure to sell. Meanwhile, Liverpool have boosted their transfer funds by agreeing a £15 million deal to sell Tyler Morton to Lyon, including a 20% sell-on clause.

The Reds have already raised significant fees from player sales this summer, including £65 million for Luis Diaz, £35 million for Jarell Quansah, and £18 million for Caoimhin Kelleher, among others. This leaves them well-positioned financially to pursue Isak, though Newcastle remain firm on their valuation.
