Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola has become more complicated after Arsenal reportedly entered the race for the winger. The Reds are also reportedly closing in on Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, but Villa's players are said to be increasingly worried he will leave.
Arsenal enter Barcola race
Arsenal have joined the chase for Barcola, according to reports. This comes after Real Madrid beat Liverpool to the signing of Yan Diomande, with Barcola suggested as Liverpool's backup option. Arsenal have also been denied by Real after Vinicius Jr reportedly considered a move to the Emirates before agreeing to a contract renewal.
This has led Arsenal to shift their focus to a left winger, with Barcola seemingly their next favoured target. Mikel Arteta has already brought in Christos Tzolis in the role but is eager to bolster the position even more.
Konsa transfer concerns
Aston Villa's players are said to be becoming 'increasingly worried' that Konsa will leave this summer. The Daily Mail has claimed Liverpool target Konsa is edging ever nearer to a move away from Villa Park, reports the Liverpool Echo.
A major obstacle in Konsa's situation would be Villa's rumoured £60million valuation. That sum would constitute a substantial investment for most centre-halves, especially for one who has under two years left on his deal. It proves all the more exasperating for Liverpool, therefore, that Konsa could fulfil their requirements so perfectly. The England international is equipped to feature at centre-back or right-back.
