Liverpool are halfway to completing a double transfer swoop for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, having reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the latter. The Reds have had a largely quiet summer as they adapt to life under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
Agreement reached for Mbaye
According to Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool have agreed personal terms with the 18-year-old forward on a five-year contract. Although Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in Mbaye, the player is no longer considering a move to the Bundesliga side following Liverpool's advances.
Barcola pursuit continues
Barcola has been linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer, despite PSG wanting to keep the 23-year-old. PSG have set a £145 million price tag on the Frenchman, and Liverpool are trying to negotiate a lower fee.
With the departures of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, and Andy Robertson as free agents, Liverpool have signed Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz permanently, and brought in Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan from Barcelona. The club now aims to agree a fee with PSG to sign both wingers before the transfer deadline next month.
