Liverpool agree deal for PSG forward Ibrahim Mbaye

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye, according to reports in France. The 18-year-old winger, who made his senior debut for PSG in 2024, has been tracked closely by the Reds and is now keen to push through a switch to Anfield.

Five-year contract agreed

RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins claims Liverpool have agreed on the financial terms of a five-year contract with Mbaye's camp. The Senegal international has made 42 appearances in all competitions for the European champions, scoring four goals and providing four assists.

Bayer Leverkusen had also been pursuing Mbaye, but the player is said to have his heart set on Merseyside. Liverpool are also pressing ahead with a move for PSG's Bradley Barcola, hoping to secure a double deal for the two attackers.

Fee still to be agreed

However, Liverpool are yet to agree a price with PSG for either Mbaye or Barcola, with the Ligue 1 giants reportedly demanding £145 million for the latter. Both players are contracted to PSG until June 2028.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique hinted at potential departures after the Trophee des Champions defeat to Lens, saying: 'We are a very young, very ambitious team. It is important for us to make changes and look for players who enjoy playing our way and who love playing for PSG.'

Liverpool have had a quiet summer under new head coach Andoni Iraola, having brought in Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo after securing Jeremy Jacquet in February. Several players, including Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo, and Federico Chiesa, could follow Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate out of the club before the transfer deadline.
