Le Bris gives Adingra update as Sunderland duo linked with exits
Le Bris: no Adingra decision as duo linked with exits

Regis Le Bris has suggested no decision has been made on Simon Adingra's future, with the Sunderland winger and Wilson Isidor both linked with moves away from the Stadium of Light.

Adingra, who spent the second half of last season on loan with AS Monaco after a difficult first half, was handed an opportunity on the right wing in the pre-season defeat to Leeds United. The Ivorian impressed during his second-half cameo, with several Italian clubs reported to be interested in him.

Isidor absent for personal reasons

West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in the former Brighton winger, while the Hammers are also said to be keen on signing Isidor this summer. Isidor did not feature against Leeds, with Le Bris revealing the Haiti international has returned to England to deal with a personal matter.

After selling Eliezer Mayenda to Rennes, Sunderland appear unlikely to sell another striker this summer, which would leave Brian Brobbey as the only out-and-out striker in the squad. However, there is less certainty surrounding Adingra's future.

Le Bris: "We didn't decide if he would stay or not"

"The transfer window is still open," Le Bris said ahead of Sunderland's pre-season clash with Wrexham when asked about the Ivorian. "So this part of the season is valuable in both ways, last season was last season and the chapter is closed now. It's an opportunity for everyone to show that he's ready to compete in the team and at the moment we didn't decide if he would stay or not.

"He struggled a bit last season, it's fair to say that and I think the experience in Monaco was interesting. For a player’s maturity, it's still positive to have different experiences. and then you get more mature. It's going to be an opportunity for him, so we'll see."

Methalie talks continue

Sunderland remain in talks with Toulouse over highly-rated defender Dayann Methalie. Personal terms are understood to have been agreed with the player, but Toulouse are demanding a fee in the region of £25m for the 20-year-old left-back.
